What is the Support at Home Program (previously Home Care Packages)?
The Support at Home Program is the updated government funded model that replaces Home Care Packages. It provides older Australians with coordinated services that help them stay independent at home, including nursing, domestic support, personal care, social activities and transport.
How does HCA Home Care support people accessing the Support at Home Program?
Whether you’re just starting the process or have already been approved for Support at Home funding, our team can help you understand your options and next steps. We can guide you through the process of accessing government-funded home care, help you understand your funding and, once approved, get your services set up with HCA Home Care.
How do I apply for the Support at Home Program?
The first step is to contact My Aged Care and arrange an aged care assessment. Your assessment will look at your needs, circumstances and goals to determine what support you may be eligible for. If you’re approved for the Support at Home Program, you can then choose a registered provider, such as HCA Home Care, to help organise and deliver your care.
What services can I use my Support at Home funding for?
Your Support at Home funding can be used for approved services that match the needs identified in your support plan. This may include nursing and allied health, personal care, domestic assistance, transport, respite, social support, meal preparation, home maintenance and other services that help you remain safe and independent at home.
How does HCA’s self-managed home care option work?
At HCA Home Care, we also give you the option to self-manage your home care through our sister brand, Homecare My Way. Self-management gives you greater choice and control over your care, including how your services are organised and delivered.
