Paying Privately

This means there is no government subsidy and you would receive an invoice directly from your Home Care provider to pay directly.

Some people choose this option because:

• The Income Tested Fee is higher than your service costs
  In some cases it can be more cost effective to pay directly for services rather than apply for government support and have an income assessment. This can be the case if you only require a lower level of service but you have a higher level of income. Some people select to pay privately in this instance and reassess if their needs change later.
• Waiting for a Home Care Package to be assigned
  There can sometimes be delays in receiving Home Care Package funding from the government, for people who are wanting to start services immediately an option is to pay for those services privately in the meantime while waiting for their package to be assigned.
