Everyday Living services are practical supports that help you keep your home safe and liveable so you can continue living independently. Under Support at Home, they include Domestic Assistance, Home Maintenance & Repairs, and Meals.

Domestic Assistance can include essential light cleaning such as vacuuming, mopping and washing dishes, as well as laundry, ironing and shopping assistance. General household expenses such as groceries, pet care, carpet cleaning and dry cleaning are not included.

Home Maintenance & Repairs can include essential light gardening, such as lawn mowing, pruning and clearing areas for safe access, as well as minor repairs and maintenance needed to help keep your home safe. It does not generally cover major renovations, landscaping or maintenance that would ordinarily be the responsibility of a landlord or another party.

Support at Home can cover assistance preparing meals in your home and pre-prepared meal services. However, everyday food and ingredient costs are not covered, and meal delivery for other household members is also outside the program’s scope.

Generally, yes. Unlike Clinical Care, which is fully funded by the Australian Government, Everyday Living services require a participant contribution. The percentage you contribute depends on your income and assets and any transitional arrangements that apply to you.

Yes. Your HCA Home Care Customer Care Manager can help coordinate the approved services in your care plan, whether you need Everyday Living support on its own or alongside Independence and Clinical Care services.
